The onsen is incredible across the road - totally unexpected! Creates the value for money in this room. The staff looked after our family by placing us in the room with a private toilet. A great location with a car to explore the area.

The onsen.particularly the outside onsen.. all the settings of the onsen . Toiletries proved. Tolonamiso roomwas simple, but clean. Good to have ensuit toilet.

The room was big for two persons (we stayed in a 4 person room). The biggest plus is the onsen from the hotel that you can use. It was the best onsen we had in our trip. There is an outside and inside area and a sauna. There are also private onsen available for extra fee of 1000 per 70minutes I think if you prefer not share. The room itself may be a bit less fancy than the hotel but for us it was comfortable and it adds to the experience to stay in a more traditional accommodation. Our room was clean yes there are some spots from flies on the wallpaper but overall the toilets, sheets and floor and supplies were clean. The view was nice right into the forest, we didn’t enjoy the surroundings that much because we arrived quite late and the next morning it was raining. There are two morning shuttles at 9.00 and 9.50 to both Tsumago and Nagiso. In the evening there are also shuttles but latest is indeed at 17.10 from Tsumago so make sure to be on time at Tsumago Parking 1 bus stop. So just plan your trip accordingly. There is no food available only a vending machine with some noodles so bring your own snacks and noodles to pour some water on and enjoy. We didn’t see any shops in Tsumago but brought it from wheee we started the hike. The next morning we had late breakfast close to Nagiso station.
