The hotel is tucked away in the Kiso mountains, making it a very secluded and private stay. We booked a full package including kaiseki-style dinner and breakfast, which we got to enjoy in a private room and which we liked very much. It all felt like a very authentic Japanese experience, and the staff made sure we felt welcome and had everything we needed. The serving staff spoke proper English so it was easy enough to communicate with each other. The room was simple, but clean, and had everything for a comfortable stay. It seems the hotel offers a shuttle bus to the nearby town of Tsumago-Juku, which is great for people coming by public transportation. As we had a car we did not make use of this service.

Nice modern ryokan. Meals were a whole elaborate experience by itself. Rooms were nice and large.

Really nice place. Attentive staff, terrific meals, beautiful location, nice onsen. Great experience to lie in the outdoor pools and gaze at the stars.
