The dining experience was amazing, very relaxed and atmospheric with peter playing the piano adding a magical touch as well as the history the place. Food was good too.

We stayed in the State Room, it was amazing being surrounded by history. The tapestries which the walls were lined with were the original tapestries from the Great Hall, from the 1500s. The same with my headboard. Actually being able to touch these items and effectively ‘live’ surrounded by elements of the era was amazing. Not all the castle was in great shape, but it’s 900years old and privately owned, what else can you expect? My husband and I loved our stay, the beds were super comfortable. We met the lady that owns the castle and her partner, Peter, was full of interesting historical facts.

Great experience. Amazing grounds and views. The sunset from the hallways was beautiful. The walks around the grounds are amazing and picturesque. Lots of history to the place. Lean into the experience!! Breakfast was delicious. Staff were absolutely lovely and wanted to take good care of their guests. The experience was great! Fantastic live piano being played at dinner was a particular treat. We stayed in the Hothfield and it was everything we wanted. Comfy, spacious bed and ensuite was great. WiFi was great in the room.

More of an experience than a standard hotel stay. Really loved it. Very authentic castle feel and loved the dining layout - encourages conversation. Meals were up there with the best. Will be back.
