Arachchi Heritage, is a wonderful place to stay. It is set next to the beautiful tanka(lake), where you can enjoy the birds and nature. The care and service by the owners and staff was genuine and professional. The meals cooked on site were fresh and delicious. They have created a relaxing and luxurious experience.

Where do you start to describe a stay at Arachchi Heritage? We absolutely loved the whole experience. The building is stunning and the location is beautiful, with birdlife, the odd mongoose, tiny squirrels and grazing cows framing the lake. We stayed in the upstairs Lake View room and it was wonderful. The bed was very comfortable, the air conditioning perfect, the bathroom large and easy to use. The pool was lovely to swim in, with views to admire from every angle. However, apart from the delicious food, the standout for us was the wonderful, warm and genuine welcome from the owners and their very special staff. They obviously love sharing the beauty and history of the home and those who helped shape it. The cooks tailored meals to suit our tastes (one more spicy, one less, one no vegetables, one with etc). The owners offered advice on what to see and do, and also gave me a surprise cooking lesson, which was fantastic. Chamilla the butler is amazing, he is everywhere, doing everything, always unobtrusive but so kind and thoughtful. We stayed for three nights, but could have easily stayed longer. We were spoiled with meals being served in special locations, sometimes overlooking the lake, sometimes upstairs, and finally on the roof garden area. I would love to give this stay more than 10/10 because it was better than that. Finally, I will add (with his permission) that my husband lost his AirPods during our stay, and the staff found them the following day and helped organise for their safe return to him. Amazing!
