“Magical and restorative”
23 Aug 2024
Wow. Where to start!!! This is a truly magical spot off the track from the Camino in a beautiful location surrounded by eucalyptus trees. The customer service was exceptional, the staff were both so warm and attentive. The food was truly spectacular - the quality of the codillo is unlike anything we have tried on this trip and is a welcome break from the Camino cuisine. The space holds a fairytale quality and we are very grateful for all the care we received :)

“What a gorgeous location!”

We arrived past 4 P.M. and in the middle of the rain, they allowed us to store the bikes. Paso Andreade is located near one of the ancient routes of The Camino de Santiago. We diverted from the present Camino about 4 or 5 miles. The road there is flanked by eucalyptus of two types, it was an amazing road, so beautiful. The place is an actual ancient home with a walled entrance and it has a center patio surrounded with room to stay, event rooms, and gardens. There was a party going on, and no one else was staying the night on that day. There is no nearby place to dine other than their own dinner, as far as I could tell. They were gracious and provided an amazing meal. A menu was not available to us, they prepared their choice, and it was just delicious. We cleaned the plates! Breakfast was just as delicious and filling. The rooms are ancient and really beautiful, and at the same time simple, and very clean. It was a pleasure to stay at Paso Andreade, we plan to return with more time. From this location on, there are a lot of climbs to get to Santiago de Compostela (if you are going by bike) but most of the route is very beautiful.
