I stayed at Hostel Utopia for three nights during my trip to Amsterdam. Overall, it was an okay experience. The biggest advantage is definitely the location – it’s right in the heart of the city, above a cannabis coffee shop, which I personally found to be a cool touch and added to the Amsterdam vibe. However, for the price I paid (€333 for three nights), I expected a bit more in terms of comfort. The room was small, dark, and felt quite stuffy. There was no mini fridge, which was inconvenient, and overall the physical conditions of the place were a bit disappointing. In the end, it really depends on what matters more to you: comfort or location. If you’re looking for somewhere central and don’t mind compromising on space and amenities, this place might work for you. I did enjoy my stay, but I can’t say the facilities lived up to the price.

Convenient for rail station, budget accommodation. I booked a small single room, a kind of slopey-ceiling loft room with a comfortable bed and sink. Shared shower/toilet.
