Well, it is Amsterdam where the prices are ridiculous. So if you want to travel on budget, you have to compromise, and Hotel Ben is good enough. Old rooms and toilets that serve the purpose, but require renovation. Small rooms unevenly shaped. Clean. Location - just next to Red Light district, so if it is your destination for night sightseeing, the location is perfect. If not - it is the crowdest area in the whole Amsterdam in the evening/night, so if your window looks over the pedestrian street, it can be pretty loud - so take the ear plugs. Staff tried to be helpful. 7 min walk to the Central station. It was good enough for us, but next time, I would probably consider to book a hotel in some nearby city and come to Amsterdam for a day trip by train.
