We stayed at Rothay House for 3 nights over the May bank holiday weekend. What a fabulous place to stay in the heart of Ambleside with so much to do right there on your doorstep. We arrived early to enable us to go for a walk before checking in. We parked in the car park and rang the bell just to let them know that it was our car in the car park. We were allowed to check in right away, which was great. We were shown to our room (room 2) which was such a large room, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The beds were really comfy!! The breakfast the following morning was just fabulous, a large selection of cereal, fruit etc plus another large selection of cooked breakfasts, catering for everyone. Darren and Debbie were very warm and welcoming and gave recommendations about the local area. This is an absolute gem of a b&b!! We can't wait to return.

Great little B&B, ideal location for Ambleside and exploring the Lakes. Rooms were great, spotlessly clean, fantastic breakfast, Darren and Debbie were lovely hosts, and even left us a bit of breakfast out for one day we had a very early start.

Great location, easy walk to the centre of town, restaurants and pubs. Comfy bed, clean room with garden view. Good choices and variety for breakfast inc fruits, yoghurt, cereal plus options for cooked breakfast.
