In the Lake District, Ambleside Central is a tall Victorian building, offering room-only accommodation with period features over three floors. Please bare in mind that there is no lift/elevator.
The stylish rooms are decorated with rich, colourful fabrics and modern art. Some rooms feature an original fireplace, and all rooms offer tea and coffee facilities and en-suite or private modern bathrooms. We however do not serve breakfast.
The guest house is just 2 minutes walk from Ambleside Bus Station and is next to The Lily Bar which serves great bar food with an impressive wine list. There are a number of restaurants, cafes and pubs just a short walk away - which can get noisy on weekends.
Ambleside Central Guest House is just 20 minutes walk from famous Lake Windermere, where a range of boating activities are available. Windermere town centre and railway station can be reached in 15 minutes, and Grasmere is 10 minutes away. Free off-site parking is available around a 7-minute walk away. -

These rooms are spacious and airy, with an en suite shower room, a TV, Wi-Fi, hairdryer and comfortable seating area. It is on the second floor.

This Small Double Room is cosy, but has no views. It is on the first floor.

This comfortable Family Room featured 1 double and 2 single beds and a private external bathroom with bath tub and shower situated directly across the hall. Other features include a TV and tea and coffee making facilities. It is on the third floor.

With an original marble fireplace, this room also features an en-suite shower room, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. A flat-screen TV is also provided. It is on the second floor.

This room overlooks the rear of the building and features a flat-screen TV and tea/coffee making facilities. It is on the second floor.

Overlooking Loughrigg Fell, this room also features a flat-screen TV, en-suite bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities. It is on the third floor.

Situated at the rear of the building, this room comes with a flat-screen TV, en-suite shower room and tea/coffee making facilities. It is on the third floor.

Did the job. Clean, central and with free parking. Noise inside the apartment (as mentioned by others) wasn't an issue.

Very clean. Easy keyless access to the building and room (owners provided excellent directions to the hotel and the free car parking is only a couple of minutes walk away). Very large room (we had a double and two singles in the room and it did not feel cramped at all). Separate private bathroom (for Room 1) was huge with a large, powerful shower. Hot chocolate was delicious. A great location right in the heart of the lively, bustling little town - easy walk to numerous shops, pubs, coffee houses and cafes!
