This was our 3rd time at Hotel Fontana and it’s always very good. Staff is friendly, location is superb and the view is fantastic.

Lovely old hotel newly renovated. Solid stone walls & 14' ceilings. Airconditioning. Big bathroom. Towels changed and bed made every day (that you request it). The price includes Continental breakfast but it is much more than that. And freshly made barista coffee. The description says there are stairs but this is only the outside stairs leading into the hotel which are no problem. Internal lift to the room. We stayed in a 2nd floor back room with a balcony overlooking the Piazza. Look down from the balcony on the sea of visitors moving into the Piazza to sit at the restaurants and cafes. You will know exactly where you want to go for a cold beer and a pizza on your first night. It was not noisy from the people in the piazza below, just a background hum (and there are double glazed doors on the balcony open or closed). If you are going to Amalfi, you are going to see the Piazza. You might as well get a balcony with the best view which will stay with you for life

Location of the hotel, centre of Amalfi, was excellent. Good breakfast with a variety of everything. Friendly personnel at the reception desk.

The hotel is in the most busy square of the town, yet if you closed the window it was quiet. The breakfast was amazing, the staff was friendly.
