Kanela Studios was the perfect break away for us. The decor is handmade by the owners, who have put so much time and energy into making it feel and look very special. It stands out amongst all the other hotels with a really bohemian and earthy vibe. The location is right by Alykes beach, with a walkway going down the side taking you right out by the sea. The bar area downstairs isn’t too noisy at night times with chilled easy listening music on most of the time despite staying open late. They have a lovely team of staff that make you feel welcome at all times. Marios was also on hand to give us recommendations and personalised a tour of the island for us when we hired a car for the day. The room itself was plenty spacious enough for the two of us with a comfortable bed and air conditioning. We didn’t do any cooking but they have facilities there in case you need to. The bathroom is stylish with a great shower for getting the sand and salt off you after a hard day chilling on the beach. We will 100% be returning here again next year.

Brothers Marios and George and their Team are the most welcoming hosts! We were always greeted and looked after with warmth and authenticity by everyone. And Marios would sit down with us often and recommend beautiful spots for what we were wanting to experience. And we would end up in deep conversation about life and mindfulness. Truly grateful to have stayed at Kanela and connected with our new friends. The property itself is very clean and fully serviced every morning by Mrs Nelly without fail unless of course we requested otherwise. It is right by our favourite beach, with shallow water running for maybe upto 100m. Great to sit or stand in calm water with views of mountains in the distance. Other beaches are spectacular but far less comfortable. Worth visiting them but we kept coming back to our home beach daily. Kanela has its own cafe and bar offering delicious food and beverage. You’ll see from the menu that the source and quality of ingredients are very well considered and important to them. Perfect stay for a calmness and inner peace.
