We loved our stay at L'Antica Casale. We stayed for two nights (Oct 6 and 7) and had dinner there on both nights. A beautiful old house that has been lovingly and sympathetically restored and in a fabulous location surrounded by nature and close to the lovely old town of Altomonte. We were the only ones there and Antonio and Marguerita were so friendly and treated us like family, telling us about the history of the house and the work the family has done to restore it. We enjoyed exploring the grounds and then a glass of wine on the terrace as the sun went down. We had two great evening meals of very authentic local Calabrian cuisine with Antonio's own wine and very generous breakfasts - nothing is too much trouble. Our room was spacious and spotless with a good shower. There are lots of interesting places to visit nearby and we went to Rossano to see the beautiful Codex Purpureus Rossenensis (6th Century Gospel). If you want an authentic Calabrian experience and hospitality - This is the place! We wish Antonio and Marguerita (and Rocco) all the best.

The hosts were incredibly kind, hospitable and helpful. The location was remote and peaceful. The accomodation was beautifully decorated. The dinner that the hosts prepared was authentic for the region and absolutely delicious. The wine produced on the property was incredible and matched the food that was served. We could not have asked for a more amazing and authentic exprience

Our hosts Tony and Martinez were very welcoming and the in house cuisine was exceptional. The farm is a short drive from Altomonte set in traditional farmland and is seeped in rich history. The room was large with air conditioning and a mini fridge. It is within easy reach of the Pollino national park and the Ionian coast.
