Great location, good base for exploring Northumberland, despite being on a road, it wasn’t that busy so was still quiet enough (except for the farmers bird scarer lol)

The cottage is lovely and the garden is huge and very secure for children or dogs. A dedicated parking space very welcome and makes coming and going so much easier. The interior of the cottage is very nice although some more homely touches would be lovely such as some nice cushions for instance. It could feel so much more cosy. The kitchen is long and very narrow but perfectly clean and has everything you might need. The only odd thing and perhaps there is a reason for this, but the knife holder only contains 2 large knives, no small knives for chopping etc. The main bedroom overlooks the garden and is nice and large and I found the bed very comfortable. The only problem is getting to the bedroom as the stairs are very steep. There is a handrail at both sides of the stairs but I didn't feel confident to carry my suitcase up and down them so kept it downstairs. The bathroom is downstairs, off the kitchen. It has a lovely shower and is very clean. Coming in the back door of the cottage is best if you have dogs as there is a small area which is really useful for drying wet paws and taking off shoes or boots. I enjoyed my stay very much, the couple of points I have made would not put me off from booking this cottage again.
