If you like staying in a rural community this is definitely the place for you. Situated next to a medieval square with a cloistered church on the one side, this is an old building which has been tastefully restored to a high standard. There was a communal kitchen which contained a microwave, cooker(no stove), and a washing machine. A very comfortable sitting room which made you feel "at home" in. There were 3 "Juliet" style attractive balconies. Two small supermarkets were reasonably well stocked and were nearby. A restaurant and bar on the main road served very good food and drink. This was a perfect base for venturing farther afield. Not having a smartphone I arranged to stay an extra two nights because we liked it so much and the surrounding countryside was so beautiful at this time of year.

We enjoyed the place, Almoharin, and walking in the area. We did some lovely walks from nearby villages. We didn't want to travel far, but very much enjoyed a visit to Merida, Trujillo and nearby villages. Most of the week we had the accommodation to ourselves, so had plenty of space. Only on one night was one of the two other rooms in use. Toni, the host, was very helpful and friendly. There were good restaurants in walking distance.

Almoharín is a charming village and this Casa Rural could not be better suited to it. A modernised place with an elegant décor and a welcoming and helpful hostess. It is a house with shared areas and facilities, but they still manage to provide a few snacks for guests to enjoy during siesta hours or as a light breakfast. We also loved the location, which is right on the plaza.
