Very welcoming and friendly hosts even though there was a language barrier. Good location although it is a 10 - 15 min uphill walk from main bus stop. Can get to Alishan by bus in 40 mins. You can pay for a tea picking experience and fire fly watching experience. You also get to enjoy their home grown and produced tea with other travellers from all over the world. Located close to some great hiking trails. They have a really sweet dog named OK, that will join you on your morning hikes. They also have 3 friendly cats.

This is an exceptionally friendly homestay/bed and breakfast. For drinking high quality tea, taking beautiful mountain forest hikes and eating central Taiwanese food, it's excellent. The atmosphere is highly social, so be prepared for conversations in many languages, and cups of tea with new people every day.

Highly recommended - the host family went out of their way to welcome us. They were really friendly and helpful, including coming to pick us up (for a reasonable extra fee) from Chiayi train station and also the next day dropping us off at Fenchihu (for no extra charge). The firefly tour was amazing. The breakfast of local veggies was perfect.
