Villa Marlene leaves very little to question. The grounds set the tone immediately; ordered, calm, and quietly beautifu, and the sense of serenity follows you in. I was welcomed right away by the hostess, whose presence elevated the entire stay. Consistently attentive without ever being intrusive, she handled every detail with care and exceeded expectations in a way that felt natural, not performative. Having spent time in several towns along the Ligurian coast, this was the stay that stood apart. The location is particularly well judged; just steps from the centro storico, with an easy, comfortable walk to both the train and the beach. In practice, this positioning proved more convenient and enjoyable than being directly on the coast. Restaurants, shops, and daily essentials are all close at hand and easy to navigate. The property itself reflects a level of thoughtfulness that is often missing from typical apartments or hotel accommodations. It is well constructed, notably quiet, and offers a sense of retreat at the end of the day. Small details matter, after long days of travel, having a proper bathtub was not a luxury but a genuine relief. The food is excellent, the setting is composed, and the overall experience feels cohesive from start to finish. Above all, it is the care behind the place, clearly reflected in how it is run, that defines Villa Marlene.

We stayed there for 5 nights and we will always remember our stay. Everything was just perfect: the room, the vicinity to the old town center, the food, cleanliness etc. But most of all we enjoyed meeting and getting to know our landlady. She is the most likeable, friendly, helpful person one can imagine. It was really hard to say goodbye, but we are definitely coming back.
