Carlo is born and raised in Alba, purchased this place in ‘90’s, worked in the fashion industry for 30 years in all over Europe and turned his place into Alma B&B in 2024. This should be the best B&B in Alba in terms of facilities, breakfast, and everything else. Facilities: This place maintains architecture style of this region in the beginning of the 20th century including the beautiful ceiling painting in each room. The rooms are beautifully decorated by Carlo’s wife, Silvia who is an architect. Carlo could’ve added an additional room in the living room space, but he didn’t, to keep his place as is, which gives you a feeling that you’re invited to your friend’s house in Alba. Of course, the room and everything is perfectly clean and bedding and amenities are also almost 5-star hotel quality. No need to mention the location. It’s just in the center of the city. Breakfast: I’m not a big fan of big breakfast in B&B’s and asked for just simple bread, but it was still impressive. Once again, the quality is exceptional. Coffee was good and Silvia actually made me freshly squeezed orange juice herself! Other things: Here’s what Carlo helped me with my stay in Alba. 1. Recommended best local restaurants which were fantastic 2. Connected me to a white truffle hunter so that I could buy Alba white truffle at a bargain price He can also introduce good Barolo winery for tasting and all the historic places in Alba for sightseeing as well. Alma B&B was such a nice surprise for me on this trip to Alba. You won’t regret it.

This is the only place to stay in Alba. Carlo is an exceptional host. He is charming, knowledgeable of everything Alba / Piedmont and has a wonderful sense of humour. It was like staying with an old friend. He helped book restaurants ( he knows the best place in Alba ! ) recommended wineries and enthusiastically shared the delights of Alba. Breakfast was extensive, and beautifully prepared, including his legendary focaccia! Slowly savoured with stimulating and fun conversation. The bedrooms, common areas and breakfast room are elegant and stylish. Carlo's wife Sylvia has let her talent shine through. The accommodation overlooks the main via of Alba. We sat on the balcony with a glass of wine, enjoying the sound and colour of the Palio. There are restaurants, bars, cafes and shops all a short walk nearby. Alma is in the heart of Alba.
