The house had lots of space and there was a nice garden to sit in. It is close to the village centre where there were enough shops for all we needed. Our friendly host provided us with home made jam and cake, eggs from her chickens and fruit juice.

Gîte au cœur de la Brenne was warm, clean, and quiet when we stayed in June this year, and had all we needed for a comfortable stay. Mézières-en-Brenne is an ideal centre to explore the Brenne, and has an excellent bakery, the mini-market in the square has fresh fruit and other groceries, there's a good cafe and a couple of restaurants, and a Thursday market. The gîte is about ten minutes walk down a quiet safe road to the centre. We'd happily stay at this friendly, if slightly quirky and very French cottage again! (There may be a bonus is if you arrive when Marine has been bottling fruit or baking!)
