The fine print
A prepayment of the full amount will be taken at the time of booking and is required to secure your reservation. Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply Please note, all beds are 120cm-wide, small double beds, as opposed to 135cm-wide standard double beds. Please note that towels are not provided. Upon arrival, guests are welcome to pick up a complimentary towel at the reception, with one towel allotted per person. For additional towel refreshes, there will be a charge of £5 per towel. Luggage storage is available prior check in and after check out at a cost of £5 per bag. Shower gel is available at reception Double rooms have access to a shared fully equipped kitchen. Guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. No meal options available All rooms are non-smoking and there is a fine of £150 for smoking in the building. A damage deposit of £100 is required on arrival. This will be collected by credit card. You should be reimbursed within 7 days of check-out. Your deposit will be refunded in full via credit card, subject to an inspection of the propertyGuests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. When visiting the Fringe on just visiting Edinburgh for a city break, you don't need luxury. You just need a basic, warm, secure base. Shrubhill is that place. Set half way between the centre of the city and the town made famous by the film Sunshine on Leith, Shrubhill is a modern building in a new part of the area. Rooms are in student flats with their own bathroom facilities and a well equipped communal kitchen. Staff are on reception 24/7 and in the foyer, you can pick up free tea and coffee as well as shower gel and basic condiments. There is a Sainsbury Local in the block and a Tesco Metro a short walk away. 15 minutes away on Easter road is a flagship Lidl that stocks lots of local items as well as its full range. A little way down Leith Walk is the Edinburgh institution that is Storries 24 hour Pie Shop. For dinner, take the bus to Nicholson Square and stuff yourself silly on one of the cheap and very nourishing curries provided by the two Mosque Kitchens. One is on the main road, the other is underneath the mosque itself. While it can be a trek up the hill to the centre of the city, the 7 and 14 buses are very close by, as is the tram. I'd recommend buying daily bus and tram travel passes as they will quickly pay for themselves. Those same transport links will also take you down to Leith and Portobello Beach and the Royal Yacht Britannia. Leith Walk also has an interesting selection of shops, including 'vintage' charity shops that sell overpriced tat. This has been the best digs I have had since I first came to The Fringe in 2017. I will now make it my permanent base and am looking forward to being back their next yera.

It met all our expectations, the location was perfect for getting into the centre of the city. The 24h reception was fantastic as we arrived late at night.
